We are pleased to announce that we have committed a new version of the Drupal Adsense module to the contributed modules repository at Drupal.org.

The release has some new features, including:

  • Added five pre-defined blocks that are easily configurable by the site admin without the need to use any PHP code. This is a major usability improvement for many site owners.
  • Added a new "test mode" that ensures Adsense is working correctly specially when setting up revenue sharing.
  • The Adsense client ID is now stored in a profile field, both for site owner as well as other users.
  • Added a block tag, instead of flexiblock, since that module is not needed much in 4.7 with the new block regions feature.
  • Increased number of ad groups (type, color, ..e.tc.) from 3 to 5.
  • Increased the number of channels from 3 to 7.
  • Updated the online help and instructions, and made it collapsible/collapsed by default, so it is not in the way.
  • Separated the online help in its own file to save memory and overhead.
  • Added version information and date in the setting page, so users know what they are running.

We plan to start a community on Adsense and other modules we authored here at 2bits.com soon.

I wish to say "Thank you!" to the developer of the Adsense module for Drupal! I have installed adsense on two moderately busy community sites and this module has substantialy reduced the complexities involved in implementing Adsense on my site(s).

Thank you!

How about a feature to include adlogger in the adsense codes for the next update?

http://www.adlogger.org

It's an open source adsense tracker

We already have a feature in 4.7 that logs all clicks, from which page, and we provide some reports (most clicked pages, clicks per day, detailed clicks).

We looked briefly at adlogger in the past, and will consider it for the future.

please submit a feature request on drupal.org for this.

Have you considered adding YPN support? I wouldn't think it would be too much work to add the support since the framework is already in place. Let me know if you have plans, otherwise can make my hack for your module a little less of a hack and more of an upgrade.

Thanks,
Todd

Very good work: I use this module in my site and it works very well.

There aren't Ad Links of 5 links, but I think they are unuseful because the font became too small.

Thank you.

I have followed the instructions, created a profile entry called 'Google Adsense ID', available to Admins and modules, and I've set my value; and yet I get the following error message:

* There is no site owner Google Adsense Client ID defined. Please define a profile field, and select it below as per instructions, and enter a value for user id 1 as explained below.
* There is no site owner Google Adsense Client ID defined. Please define a profile field, and select it below as per instructions, and enter a value for user id 1 as explained below.

The configuration options have been saved.

What's up with that?

Thanks,

Jake

The problem is with the field's privacy setting which are too high. See a solution here: http://drupal.org/node/88284

Great module. It makes adsense much easier to use. I also found the revenue sharing to be a great element but I was wondering if there was anyway to control the revenue sharing through access control (permissions).

Say I decide that regular users get 20% of the click, but moderators who submit content get 50%.

Thanks for your time,
Chris
